This Privacy Policy describes how EatUp (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the EatUp mobile application and related services (the “App”), designed to help people discover restaurants, view menus and events, receive offers, and make bookings.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
EatUp is a service that connects users with restaurants, bars and other venues.

2. Information we collect
We collect different types of information in order to provide and improve the App.
2.1 Information you provide directly
When you use the App, you may provide us with:

- Name and surname
- Email address
- Phone number (if you add it)
- Profile picture or initials
- Password or login credentials (if you sign up with email)
- Social / Apple sign-in dataWhen you sign in with Apple, or other supported providers, we receive a unique identifier and, depending on your settings, your name and email address (or a private relay email). We do not receive your password from these providers.

- Restaurant selected, date and time of booking
- Number of guests
- Special notes or requests you choose to write for the restaurant (e.g. allergies, celebrations, preferences)

- Promo codes or vouchers you activate
- Restaurants where vouchers are used
- Date and time of voucher redemption

Feedback & support
- Messages you send us via in-app support, email, or contact forms
- Reviews, feedback or reports you submit about restaurants or the App
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the App, we may automatically collect:
- Device informationDevice model, operating system version, language, app version, and unique device identifiers (such as IDFV)
- Usage data- Screens you view, features you use, taps, interactions, and session duration- Crash logs and performance data to help us fix bugs and improve stability

Location data (optional)
- Approximate or precise location, only if you grant permission, to show nearby restaurants, events, and relevant offers.
- You can disable location access at any time in your device settings; the App will still work but may show less relevant results.

Notification tokens
- A device token generated by your phone so we can send you push notifications about bookings, reminders, and offers.
- You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
2.3 Information from restaurants
When you make a booking or redeem a voucher, the restaurant may update the booking status (e.g. confirmed, cancelled, no-show, completed) or mark a voucher as used. We store this information to manage your reservations and offers history.
3. How we use your information
We use your information only for purposes related to the EatUp service, including:

- Create and manage your account
- Show you restaurants, menus, events and offers
- Process bookings and voucher redemptions
- Send you booking confirmations, reminders and updates

- Show restaurants and offers based on your location and preferences
- Suggest places or events similar to those you’ve viewed or booked

- Respond to your support requests
- Send service messages (e.g. changes to bookings, system notifications)
- With your consent, send marketing communications about new features, promotions or partner restaurants

- Monitor performance and fix bugs
- Analyse aggregated usage to improve features and user experience
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse or misuse of vouchers or promo campaigns
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Legal bases for processing (EU / EEA users)
If you are in the European Union or EEA, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract – to provide you with the EatUp services you request (e.g. bookings, voucher usage).
- Legitimate interest – to secure and improve the App, prevent fraud, and understand how the service is used, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent – for optional features such as marketing communications, location-based services, and push notifications, where required by law. You can withdraw consent at any time through app or device settings.
5. How we share your information
We only share your information when necessary to provide the service, or when we are legally required to.
5.1 With restaurants / venues
When you interact with a restaurant through EatUp, we share the information they need to manage your booking or voucher, such as:
- Your name and contact details (e.g. phone/email if required for confirmation)
- Date, time and size of your booking
- Any notes you add for the restaurant (including allergies or preferences)
- Voucher code and discount details, if applicable
Restaurants act as independent data controllers for their own processing of your data. Their own privacy policies apply to how they store and use information once they receive it.
5.2 With service providers
We may share data with carefully selected third-party providers that help us run EatUp, for example:
- Cloud hosting and database services
- Analytics and crash reporting tools
- Email and push notification providers
These providers process your data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality and security obligations.
5.3 Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests (e.g. court orders), or to protect our rights, safety, or that of our users or the public. We do not share your data with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
6. Data retention
We keep your information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including:
- Account and booking history: kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards (for example, to handle disputes, comply with tax or legal obligations, and maintain accurate records).
- Voucher and promo usage: kept for the duration of the campaign and a limited period afterwards for fraud prevention and reporting.
- Logs and analytics data: stored for a limited period to analyse performance and usage trends.
You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time (see “Your rights” below).
7. Cookies and similar technologies
If you use EatUp via a web interface or landing pages, we may use cookies or similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in
- Remember your preferences
- Analyse how pages are used
Where required, we will ask for your consent to use non-essential cookies. You can manage cookie settings in your browser.
8. International data transfers
Our servers or service providers may be located in countries outside your own, including countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where we transfer personal data internationally, we ensure an adequate level of protection, for example by relying on:

10. Children’s privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or alteration, including:
- Encryption in transit where appropriate
- Access controls and authentication
- Regular monitoring and updates of our systems
Please note that no system can be completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
12. Third-party links
The App may contain links to third-party websites, services, or social media. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the App or legal requirements. When we do, we will:
- Update the “Last updated” date at the top, and
- Where appropriate, notify you in the App or by email.
Your continued use of the App after the updated Policy becomes effective means you accept the changes.
